General Hospital spoilers: Tense election day for Ned and Alexis-Who will be the next mayor of Port Charles?
The Port Charles mayoral race will finally be resolved, but don’t look for a smooth ride.
It’s election day on General Hospital! The new Port Charles mayor will be announced soon enough, but it certainly won’t happen without much drama. Ned Quartermaine is up against Alexis Davis, but someone is playing dirty to make sure that Ned wins. Alexis is now in the hot seat right in the middle of the votes being cast.
Scandalous headlines
In the beginning, it was Ned Quartermaine against Laura Collins. Unfortunately for Laura, and for fans of Genie Francis, the character was called away to tend to her grandson Spencer after he broke both legs. The longtime General Hospital actress was put on recurring status a few weeks ago right in the middle of Laura campaigning for mayor.

That may have worked out perfectly for Ned as now there is something in his new opponent’s past that could guarantee his victory. Or will it? The thorn in Alexis’ side right now is Julian Jerome when it comes to the election. Another story has erupted that may just cost her the mayoral race.

According to General Hospital spoilers by She Knows Soaps, Alexis will be put in a bad position. Molly will be totally furious over what is happening with her mother. She is counting on her victory to help save Charles Street and the people who are being forced out of their homes. This may be a terrible setback.

Does Alexis stand a chance?
Since the voting has already started, there may still be a slight chance that Alexis could come out the winner in this election. The headline came out right in the middle of the votes, so there is a possibility that the voters had already cast their vote for Alexis before the story broke out.
How about Ned? Will he want a victory at the cost of a hurtful scandal involving his opponent? After all, he and Alexis almost got married in the past. He may just realize that playing dirty when it comes to his ex may not be the way he wants to win and back out altogether.
However, Jim Harvey seems to be relentless and will do anything at all to get what he wants, and he wants Ned to win. This tense election day is just getting started!
