GH News: Kin Shriner shocks fans by saying goodbye to Scott Baldwin-Did April Fool’s come early?
General Hospital fans are hoping that this is just an April Fool’s joke that Kin Shriner is leaving the ABC soap.
GH vet, Kin Shriner, has shocked fans by a couple of posts he made on social media on Friday that indicated he is leaving the daytime drama for good. He has played the role of Scott Baldwin off and on for 41 years. He was Laura’s love, even before Luke Spencer came along. Even though he has not appeared much on-screen these days, he has popped up to be there for Scott’s son, Franco, once in a while.

April Fool’s joke?
While it is not yet April Fool’s day, it almost seems like this could very well be some kind of joke. However, this looks to be true. Kin Shriner posted it saying, “Scott Baldwin out,” and then confirmed the news to fans saying that he had a good run. It was also confirmed by his GH co-star, and another longtime soap vet, Jackie Zeman. She wished him the best and said that she will miss him.
Some fans are asking Shriner if his account has been hacked. It could be, but since Zeman sent her heartfelt message to him as well, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Was he fired?
There are no details yet on why Kin is leaving General Hospital. Fans are assuming that he was fired. They are extremely upset that the show is letting all of the vets go now. Genie Francis has been the latest one to get put on recurring. You hardly ever see Mac and Felicia, or Bobbie either. It was great to have them all together for the soap’s 55th anniversary celebration on Friday.

The unfortunate part is that Shriner gave the announcement the same day the celebration was shown on air. You can bet that fans will be showering ABC and the General Hospital execs with phone calls and emails about this.

There is always the chance that Kin Shriner had made the decision to leave on his own. He may just take to social media once again to explain it all eventually.
He will certainly be missed. He is just one of the many vets who has helped to mold General Hospital into what it is today. He is a huge part of the rich history of the ABC soap.
